JVC KM-3000U Component Special-Effects Generator.
The KM-3000U Component Special-Effects Generator from JVC is a video processor designed to provide special-effects and processing features for component video signals. It can function as an 8-input component mixer, or inputs six through eight can also be used with RGB signals. It will output in (3) different signal formats: component, composite, and Y/C video.
Other features include a soft linear chroma key, an external key, and a luminance key. Automatic and manual transitions are both available. Special effects include downstream keys and fades, which can also be either automatic or manual. Transition time in automatic mode can be set between 0 and 999 frames with a rotary dial or 10-digit key pad. Moreover, (23) wipe patterns are included with the unit.
Color matte generation is offered for borders, background colors, and the downstream key. A built-in data memory can record up to (16) events and (24) colors. By leaving both the background and key switches on and actuating one extra effect, it is possible to mix 3-mode composite effects. It will interface with most RS-422 and GPI VCR editing controls.
